Hello
I am new to this spot. I found loads of useful information here. I would also like to contribute some thing for this community. I would like to share some quick weight loss tips. If you wish to know how to lose 10 pounds in a week, you are likely not searching for a common dieting and exercise plan. You can lose weight with a basic diet and work out plan, Still this demands a lot of time doing intense cardio workouts and adhering a strict diet. Here I will draft the exact steps that I took to lose 10 pounds in just a week.
1. Stay away from all fried foods for the week (Sounds logical to me)
2. Drink In an 8oz glass of grapefruit with breakfast each day. (this speeds up your metabolism) (FAIL on the metabolism part, but hey, nothing wrong with grapefruit juice, unless you are on medications…)
3. Take limited portions (stop eating when you are full) (Part One Sounds logical to me, Part Two sounds contrary to part one..limited portions but you can also keep eating until you are full?)
4. Rather than consuming 3 large a meals a day, take 5-6 smaller meals to keep your metabolism up and keep your body burning fat. (FAIL)
5. Aviod eating after 9 P.M.. When you eat that late your body does not burn off the calories. (Because when you are sleeping you are actually dead? FAIL)
6. Take proper sleep every night. Not having enough sleep has been proven to be a leading factor to the body putting up excess fat. (Because instead of eating, you are awake and probably eating…so sure, I can agree with this)
7. Use a body/colon clean for the 7 days. This will get rid of extra fat stored close to the tummy area as well as cleanse your body of harmfull pollutants that makes you store fat and feel tired. Flush away excess pounds around the stomach area that otherwise would be hard to lose. (Ladies and Gentlemen, this is most likely how you would lose ten pounds in one week…but its not fat you are losing, it’s poop)
8. I suggest you using Acai Berry Diet Pills. This one is proven to work, and you can get a free trial. (ooooh Free trial, FAIL)
9. For those people who wish to burn fat quickly, avoid alcoholic beverage. (I’m not going to touch this one, I guess if you want to burn fat quickly, alcohol is just ‘empty calories’ so OK)
10. A low GI diet is an excellent method of loosing fat quickly. (What is ‘loosing’?)
Thanks!.!

I love the “colon clean” part.

Hmm, let’s see, how many cliches can I put in one post? LOL! I think he got all of them
Brad, what do You think about the nutrition plan of Adonis index
http://www.scribd.com/doc/2244809/The-Adonis-Effect-Build-a-Body-that-Women-Cant-keep-their-Hands-off
it seems a strict and bodybuilding like eating plan for me. Avoid carbs, lot of protein, eating 6 or more times per day
10. A low GI diet is an excellent method of loosing fat quickly.
It’s at best a strategie (blood sugars, food choice restriction, just plain healthier maybe), but eating low-gi won’t make you lose weight in itself (not to mention… quickly ?)
PS: some strategic consumption of alcohol before weigh day on the biggest loser will make you lose some water… I’d like to see a contestant with a hangover claim their price
Brad, what synchronicity, I just answered a lengthy question from someone asking how to wade through all the fitness advice out there, some of it so contradictory. And in my response, I detailed how not a week goes by that I don’t get at least one email like the blog post you quoted above.
Perpetuation of fitness myth and downright misleading content is a pet peeve of mine and for that reason I’m thoroughly enjoying your post. So simple, so right on!
Cheers,
Lani
Thanks for posting this info. I simply need to let you hear that I just looked at your web site and I find it very fascinating and informative. I enjoyed reading this post. I would like to see a lot more on this topic…
Massive. Epic. Fail. I have lady friends who consume so much information and come up with these crazy rules about what they can eat or they must do. In the end they don’t lose weight.
I feel sorry for them, but they often reject the notion of a one or two day fast. Maybe it isn’t for them, but it seems they’d rather settle for confusion than fact. Then again, that’s the story of the human race.
The nutrition plans with Adonis have changed quite a bit since that was released.

Hmmm seems like the entire thing was written just to insert the word acai in there
FAIL
and F*** off Acai!!!
I guess he never read your ebook, Eat Stop Eat. Just cut back the calories.
Aaaaa I am laughing! You have a lot of patience my friend.
I do adore “loosing” weight. I love it when my clothes get loose though.
Haha brad this is great! You were quite mean there but the writer kept talking about boosting metabolism. Bunch of tosh! Though sometimes i do feel the burn after a fasted workout! Have to eat after though or I’ll faint. That’s what happened the other time…
Yep, the original link’s all pointed back to an Acai Berry site.
B
What is ‘loosing?’ hahaha!
So close, yet sooo far.
Hey Brad,
Good post, as usual. I hope this isn’t out of left field here, but with the talk about supplements, drugs, and quick promises, what is your opinion on marijuana and weight management? You can go to any exercise form and eventually this one comes up, with quite polarizing effects; some claim they give in to munchies and consume too much, others claim if they don’t eat, they don’t find they gain body fat at all. Some claim they can lift more, others point out the injury that can accompany that new “strength.” Not that I’m advocating drug use here, but I would be curious to know if you’ve come across any legitimate research that can shed some light on this uh, hazy topic
All the best!
Brad, what do You think about this study?
http://journals.lww.com/acsm-msse/Abstract/2010/02000/Increased_Protein_Intake_Reduces_Lean_Body_Mass.14.aspx
Brad, what do you think about some studies that have shown that RMR does decrease with caloric deficit, like these:
Food for thought: I’ve been controlling my calorie intake for about 6 years now. Thanks to your work, I include a 22 hour fast 1 or 2 days a week and the other days I simply control my food quantity. For me, the fasting allows me to ease up just a little on the weekends, i.e. to drink a beer or 3. The effort required now is certainly easier than when I first started. It has simply become the way I live. My brain and body have acclimated. I would like to review my calorie intake before I began calorie control. I ate like a typical American. Fast food, no control on sweets, loads of breakfast cereals in the morning, cookies, chips, etc. Again, it wasn’t just the types of food but the huge quantities. I’d estimate I was taking in at least 3500 calories a day. Maybe more. At 190 pounds that seems about 1000 calories a day above my maintenance. If we factor that over a 1 year time I should have been gaining dozens of pounds a year. Yet, I was not. I had gained 3 or 4 pounds a year over the previous few years hence I was 30 pounds overweight. My body had acclimated to that amount of calories. How could I eat enough to gain dozens of pounds a year yet only gain 3 or 4. I agree, it cannot be completely explained by an increase in “metabolism”. I suspect it occurs by our body making hundreds of small compensatory mechanisms in order to adapt to the surplus calories. Some goes to body fat, some to temperature control, lots gets eliminated down the toilet. Does our internal furnace increase? I don’t know but I can’t help but wonder if one of the hundreds of compensatory mechanisms does not include a slight increase in “metabolism”. If we flip that around does that mean my “metabolism” is now slower than it was before? If so, I again suspect it is a minor change and simply one of many changes our bodies make to adapt to our lower calorie intake. I am interested in your view. Sorry this is so long!
Anthony,
The short story is that none of these papers support that theory.
Bottom line is that if you are interested in a full explanation you’d probably really like the Eat Stop Eat University (We cover all this research in our Metabolism Teleseminar)
B
Hi Woody,
This is a paper we discuss in the Eat Stop Eat U, it’s not really something can be covered in a quick blog post.

Mike
I think you are over thinking this issue and are trying to do hard math on soft estimates. I’m not sure what you are asking, so I’ll stick with the bottom question… Yes your 24 hour energy expenditure is higher when you are heavier…mostly due to the cost of living and moving with that extra weight.
B
I’m certainly no expert in understanding these studies, but the conclusion of that last study Anthony linked to (ajcn.org) seems to not support the idea of the set point theory:
“Our findings do not provide evidence in support of adaptive metabolic changes as an explanation for the tendency of weight-reduced persons to regain weight.”
The ideas of “slowed metabolism” and “set point” are the two most devastating and demotivating ideas for anyone trying to lose weight. Does it support the former, but not the latter? I dunno. It seems like they’re saying that you’ll be fine if you go back to maintenance after you lose the weight. Of course, going back to maintenance after weight loss is exactly what one should do, regardless. It’s just logical. Get to the weight you want to be at, then maintain.
I think it was Barban who stated that most weight loss is quick, so taking a few months to lose the weight, or several months if one has a lot of weight to lose, and then returning to maintenance (energy balance) as quickly as possible is something that’s desirable for us. Not saying that the study is 100% correct, how the hell would I know? lol. But overall, the conclusion seemed relatively positive.
Dude, did you seriously delete the links to the posts that disagree with you? That’s bad form. I thought you were different, more open. Guess I was wrong.
I didn’t disagree with any posts? Not sure what you are referring too?
B
What’s the story on the university?
Brad, I am posting about Eat Stop Eat on my blog today. I have been usin git and it had brought a lot of simplicity to my life. I am recommending it to my readers!!!
Oh wait I have a step 11!
11. be sure to get tested for your blood type and then divide the numerical value of the letters in your name with the numerical value of your zodiac and then plug that number into this simple formula:
455*34/326+38877- your BMR – (the year of the car your drive* mileage/6)=
and you have how many calories you should eat to lose weight.
It’s so obvious why don’t you people understand?! I guess I’m a genius and everyone else is a fool.
(*note the sarcasm I tried to inflict*) LOL
this f**king acai berry so annoying…..
they is everywhere……
on website, on add on, on spam, on facebook? WTF
