Thanks Mary,

I had no clue so much went into stoneware.

Good to hear its lead free, and the "tight pores" explains why this stoneware cleans so much better than the other stuff.

BP

Thanks for this post, Brad! I love my stoneware. Another great thing about Pampered Chef stoneware is that it is made with high quality lead free clay and baked at very high temperatures, which means it has tight pores and does not absorb odors and flavors like some inferior stoneware. And it's super easy to clean.

Stoneware purchased at discount outlets is often produced abroad, is NOT guaranteed to be lead free, and is very porous so it absorbs every flavor of everything you cook.

I find it's worth it to pay a little more for the good stuff that will last. And most Pampered Chef items come with a minimum one year guarantee, many products with a lifetime guarantee.

If you're cooking for one or two, PC makes small round and oval stoneware baking dishes that fit right in the toaster oven. They even make a stoneware toaster oven tray! I use a number of their products and I have always been satisfied with every product purchased through Pampered Chef.

No, I don't sell the stuff, but after Brad's and my rave reviews there may be readers wanting to buy it, so I am attaching a link below for those of you who just can't wait to start shopping.
