Actually I’ve been making a big mistake these last two months.
I decided to follow the workout program of my favorite bodybuilder.
(Yes, I have a favorite body builder…nothing wrong with that)
Here’s the deal…
I’m a big Serge Nubret fan.
So when I saw that Serge was a big fan of high volume, short rest, long workouts, I thought…’hey…if it’s good enough for Serge!’
BIG MISTAKE
Following the workout of your favorite Actor / Body Builder / Fitness Celebrity makes about as much sense as going out and buying a Ferrari 575M Maranello because that’s the car Will Smith Drives (well, he drove it in Bad Boys II).
You probably can’t afford it, and it’s not going to miraculously turn you into Will Smith.
Same thing goes for work outs.
Workouts can improve the body you have, but they can’t magically change your body into somebody else’s body.
(I hope that makes sense)
So here’s the deal, just like your diet, your workout has to fit YOUR specific goals and needs.
Now, I’m not saying this style of work out isn’t effective, but I know I do not have the ability to dedicate 2 hours to a workout 6 times a week.
I also know from previous experience I don’t enjoy these types of workouts (High reps and long workouts are not my thing).
So lesson learned for me – You have to figure out what works for you and what FITS for you.
For me it’s Compound Cluster Cycles.
So it’s back to Anabolic Again with a goal of slightly tweaking it so I can do it for more than 16 weeks at a time.
Bottom line – Figure out what works for you, and what FITS…it doesn’t matter if it’s the best workout in the world, if it doesn’t fit into your life..you’re probably not going to do it / enjoy it.
BP
PS- If you have a trainer this is really important – did he or she design your program because it’s what’s best for YOU, or because it’s what THEY are currently ‘in to’?

But but Brad 0: why would you even think of copying someone else s program? Its like trying to fit a square peg into a hole made for a circle. Other people just don’t have your training background. They may have strengths that you don’t have and weaknesses that are your strengths. And steroids…what if your bodybuilding hero is juiced to his gills?
This is a joke right, you didn’t really try to copy your bodybuilding hero’s program did you?
Yep I did.
Was looking for a break and to try something new.
Lesson learned.
But why was it a mistake? What happened?
It’s a style of training I really don’t enjoy. It made working out not enjoyable and therefore it was easier to miss workouts or not put my all into them.
Also, It’s a style of training that breaks me down rather quickly. I’ve been injury free for almost two years, and started to feel the shoulder tightening up.
I’m sure it’s a great workout for some. But I already found a style that works really well for me.
Basically I fell for the ‘image association’ style of goal hijacking.

Hi Brad, so on the same note, the same way i have come to accept eat stop eat as the only way i can eat sensibly and remain lean, can i also follow my instincts and do cross trainer intervals followed by cycling intervals(upper and lower body) followed by a nice jog? i have done bodyweight, heavy weight, all weights etc and i just feel big and lumpy
yup it is frustrating. You see a better body like georges st. pierre and your like, how can i be like that?
I’m a Frank Zane fan myself.
Serge is my all time favorite bodybuilder. juliette bergmann is my favorite female bodybuilder.
BTW I had pancakes for breakfast this morning. I would have never touched them before reading ESE. I hadn’t had them in ages. They were yummy!
Thanks Brad!
So you mean I shouldn’t buy and do Anabolic Again written by my hero, Brad Pilon?:)
Is it a big mistake however when you take the lesson you learned and share it with your readers? Some of us learn from your “mistakes” so thanks for educating us so freely, props to you Brad!
Of course not. You should buy it twice

what works for some people doesn’t always work for others. its a very common theme that I hear all the time. I like low reps, heavy weights, minimal to medium amount of sets. if you had me doing 10+ reps and lighter weight and many sets, see you later I wouldn’t train at all, sorry.
Dude, anabolic again was so awesome! I loved going through it. Even if it didn’t give me the gains it did, I would still do it 1-2 times a year, coz I just love the feeling and how you split lower/upper. I just felt good/fun doing it.
Glad you liked it, I’m working on something AA related for you guys
Hello Brad,
I wanna ask, is Anabolic Again the same as Compound Cluster Cycles that is one of the products in the Adonis Index?
Thanks a lot.
Correct
Hi Brad, Thinking of purchasing Anabolic Again. Just went through 3 diff programs of Turbulence Training. Just wanted to know approximately how many days per week and how long the workouts are in Anabolic Again. Thanks.
4 days per week, should be done each workout in 50-75 minutes
