It’s interesting that people vilify certain hormones for certain negative effects, while ignoring other positive effects. For example, we condemn the hunger hormone ghrelin for its stimulation of hunger and forget that in the state of hunger or fasting it stimulates the release of growth hormone. The same can be said of the two faces of insulin.

Another great post — always helpful in stimulating further thoughts on things.</description>

		<description>Great post yet again Brad.  I was wondering what you recommend in terms of diet/exercise for someone who is 6?0 in the low 160s but does not have fully visible abs (prob. 12-14% bf). Would you recommend to try to lose fat through caloric restriction, gain muscle through lifting? Do both simultaneously? Lift for a few months before losing the fat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I love your no BS approach to dieting and fitness.</description>
